Plain Biscuit Recipe

Serves: 24
  • 125g unsalted butter
  • 125g rapadura sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 200g plain flour
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 - 3 tbsp water
  1. Preheat oven to 180 deg celcius and line 2 trays with baking paper
  2. Mix the dry ingredients together in a small bowl
  3. Beat butter and sugar together until creamy
  4. Add vanilla and mix well
  5. Sprinkle the dry ingredients into the butter and mix into a firm dough adding a tablespoon of water at a time to make a stiff paste
  6. Roll into balls and flatten with a fork
  7. Bake approx 15 minutes until golden in colour
  8. Cool on trays for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely
  9. Store in an airtight container
